Charlie Babbit was right; Kmart sucks. It has absolutely the worst management of a place I have ever worked. We don't have enough people to work there, and the employees are stretched so thinly across the schedule that if one of them doesn't show up, chaos ensues.
For the last three nights, Will had been the only cashier during the last 4 hours that the store was open. Which is rather stressful for both of us, as he has a buttload of customers going through his one line, and I try to help take care of them, and other customers who are needing refunds and exchanges, and all that other good stuff. But tonight, Will left at 9pm, and we were open until 10pm. So I had to man the front of the store all by myself for an hour. Fortunately for me, but not for Kmart, we were really slow.
Anyway, it's just been stressful. One of our employees quit-slashed-walked out on us today, one was gone because his wife had a baby last night, one called in sick today, and the other just hasn't shown up to work for the last three days. Arg. I don't have to deal with that crap tomorrow however, because I'm not the closing supervisor! Woo hoo!
